Earlier this summer, Brittany was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. AML is a rare cancer of the blood cells where a replacement of normal bone marrow with leukemic cells occurs. This results in a drop in red blood cells, platelets, and normal white blood cells and a host of physical problems follow. Symptoms include fatigue, shortness of breath, easy bruising and bleeding, and an increased risk of infection. Brittany is only 13 years old and has suffered through several expensive chemotherapy treatments at Comers Children Hospital in Chicago. This brave little girl is committed to win her battle against AML but she needs your help. Please join her family and friends for a Poker Run starting at Quaker Steak & Lube. A silent auction will be held for various items and memorabilia. Entertainment includes music by five different bands. If you are unable to attend, contributions can be made at any Centier Bank under "Brittany McKinney." ALL proceeds will be donated to the Brittany McKinney family! |
